♥ Benjamin Isaac ♥

Benjamin Isaac is here! We are very happy he is finally here, safe, healthy, happy, and very sleepy =D He lets Mommy and Daddy sleep as much as a little newborn can allow that. Baby Ben does not cry unless hungry or uncomfortable. He is truly as answer to my prayers! Wade rocked our world...and we love him! But I kinda wanted a little less rocking this time, esp since Wade is still rocking our world XD

I was a very quiet baby, and so I prayed that Ben would be like me ^_^ hahahaha! And, I guess he is, or better, I don't know, but he is always content. He hardly cries even when hungry. When he wakes up he just looks around at his little world contentedly. He smiled for the 1st time the other day. He was looking at me and I said, "Hi baby Ben" and then he smiled :) I think it was probably the voice he recognized. It was so sweet! He smiles a lot in his sleep. I haven't gotten a picture of that yet though.

Having such a content baby does have some challenges. Nursing him is one. But he is also quite the eater. He can nurse a lot and goes on a long sleeping stretch. Yesterday I tried the football hold for nursing, but he was having such an awesome time he over nursed and then had gushing rivers of milk pouring out of him O.O But that didn't make him cry, or even panic lol! Scared me more! (btw, never again for the football hold! I used to try that with Wade when I was engorged because it's hard for them to latch, which was Ben's problem, but then the milk must pour out too quickly. Wade would throw up too).

Ben spits up a lot easier than Wade did. Wade hated being a baby and hated spitting up. He would hold it down as much as he could even when he was little little. But Ben knows it's part of being a baby, I guess :) They are different! I love them both!!!

Wade...he is having a little bit of a hard time adjusting to this new "kitty" in the house. And the strangest thing, Mama hangs out with the kitty a lot! Wade is quite confused and he is letting us know he is not liking his unpredictable world. I think he feels his world was so predictable and suddenly now it's not so much. We are trying to guide him lovingly and help him not feel lost. It's been quite a challenge  but I know it will get better :)

Now the details about "the day" :)

I was due September 11th 3 days before Wade's 1st birthday. I had had a false alarm 2 weeks before my due date. Because of that, we decided to cancel the little birthday we had planned for Wade. We could have done it ( now I know) but then I felt very sore and tired and felt "close". And just like that it left the following week.

At my 41 week appointment with the midwife, she stripped my membranes hoping that might trigger labor. It didn't, but things started moving in that direction more noticeably. I noticed that baby dropped. I could breath! The midwife had suggested to try Castor oil, but I had a great aversion to the oil. I get nauseous easily and I really didn't want to start labor sick. By mid week we decided to call the midwife and see if I could take a black and blue cohosh tincture that was for the purpose of encouraging labor.

We made an appointment for Friday morning. The midwife gave me 6 doses to take every 2 hours or until labor started.

We went on a walk at a park, had lunch, then did another round at the park.

 Wade loves parks

Then we headed home.

I suddenly started having contractions around 5:30pm ( while giving Isaac a massage XD). They started right off the bat, one minute in duration and 3 minutes apart. After one hour we decided to head to the birthing center. Three hours later Ben was here :)

We are all doing well and I am recovering very quickly =) Mom being here has been such a great help to both Isaac and me...and Wade :) She will be leaving this weekend and Isaac and I will have almost a week to shuffle two babies by ourselves. Isaac's mom and sister will be here end of next week and spend 7 days with us. Mom may be back after they leave if I still can't be carrying Wade.

SO here are pictures of Ben:

Benjamin Isaac

7lbs and 11 oz

20 1/2 inches long

4 hour labor

30 min pushing

(Ben was a water birth. My water didn't break until his head came out. Being able to go the whole way in the water was a great experience. )

A dad again, in two years...he's happy :)

Tired but not near as tired as after his older brother.

HOME!

There he is all dressed up with Abuelita!

PAUSE! *he looks a lot like Wade did!* This is Wade not Ben.

Okay, back to Ben's pictures :)

These next one's was a little photo shoot time I did...I wanted to take more but my camera's battery died :( but I did take quite a bit! And I know a lot of them are similar, but he is just too cute ^.^

We are trying to help Wade adjust. Here is mom giving Wade his lunch. Eating with the kitties XD ( he likes to look out the window and try to see the neighbor's cats)

Spending time with Wade♥

Well, this is what we do every day now!  We love our little boys!!! :) We shall see when I get another time to post, but I shall try to keep it up even if it's just a couple pictures and a short post.
